Hi Friends,
it’s been a pretty quiet week over here at Teatime Reading Headquarters. I’m still deep in the Tortall universe as I finished rereading the Immortals quartet featuring one of the more unique heroines in all of literature: Veralidaine Sarrasri. Even though Alanna from the Song of the Lioness quartet is probably my favorite, Daine was a remarkable unique protagonist with truly awe-inspiring powers.
In other news, the backlog continues to shrink and that’s an odd feeling. In merely two weeks, I could be up to the present day and that’s something I never thought I’d say before 2022.
Without any more ado, though, here’s the past week on Teatime Reading.
On Monday, I read about Virgin Galactic and a fascinating cast of pilots and scientists
On Tuesday, I went on a vacation in cookbooks
On Wednesday, I read about Caffeine and other substances.
On Thursday, I read a very corporate book about digital body language.
On Friday, I read the best book yet in the High Republic era of Star Wars
This week was a slightly odd one. The book about Virgin Galactic was okay, but for my money, a lot of these books were forgettable.
Forgettable, that is, except for the Star Wars book The Rising Storm. The Nihil have turned into fascinating villains and I’m curious to see how the Jedi and the Republic deal with them. This truly feels like a world and a time period that is being painstakingly developed and created.
It hasn’t always been the easiest to follow, but The Rising Storm started to draw me into the world even as I tried to keep all the characters organized in my head.
That’s all for this week. I can’t wait to chat with you next time
Keep your bookmarks close.
Peace, Love, Pages,
